First and foremost, the gym staff and I want to express our gratitude for your support of The GYM Cape Carteret Aquatic & Wellness since we opened in 1998. We signed up members while waiting for the facility to be constructed at a table set up on the unfinished property.
We would like to thank you for being a member and part of our community today. While we may be a fitness facility, The Gym is also a place where we show how we value the Crystal Coast and its citizens. Every day, our staff builds, nurtures and supports one another and our members in not only our health and wellness goals, but our life goals and dreams.
It is with much consideration that I must tell you about a necessary change forced by the realities of increased costs of operation – post COVID19. After experiencing sharply rising operating costs in recent years, I have considered my obligation to our members and kept our membership pricing unchanged. Today’s environment two years into the pandemic and with unfortunate historic inflation requires I make an exception and raise fees for The Gym to continue to survive and operate. This money will be spent not just to continue to maintain our current high standard of equipment and services, but to modernize it and increase compensation for our staff to maintain their standard of living when today’s dollar doesn’t go as far as it used to.
The area vacated by Sound Medical will host a new fitness space where expansions and renovations are already in progress. This area will serve as another expansion of the weight room allowing more space for a functional training area for core workouts and new space for group exercise classes. Members can bypass the front desk through an additional entrance with their keycards here, too. We plan to complete this area in a few weeks.
We’re also excited about the planned pool area renovations that will follow the completion of the new fitness area. A new and modern steam room and sauna are on the way to better serve our members.
Our partnership with the The Studio allows members to pay just $5 to drop in on any classes (except for Line Dancing).
Lisa Williams teaches Line Dancing on a pay-what-you-want basis, with donations requested and a suggested minimum $3 donation collected by Lisa prior to class upon your arrival.
Please sign up online for all classes offered by The Studio at capecarteretstudio.com
or on the Mindbody app. At registration, select the option to reserve without paying. Any time before class, go to the front desk at the gym and let the staff know you want to pay for a drop-in at the yoga studio. Present your receipt to the instructor before class in the The Studio at Cape Carteret located in the front of the building facing Taylor Notion Rd. Unit B.
