What is SilverSneakers?

SilverSneakers is a fitness and wellness program offered at no additional cost to seniors 65+ on eligible Medicare plans that helps you get active, get fit, and connect with others.

Our program is designed for all levels and abilities and provides access to online and in-person classes, over 15,000 fitness locations, and health & wellness discounts.

If you have an eligible Medicare Plan, you might already be eligible!

The program itself is covered by your insurance, so you shouldn’t have to pay anything out of pocket unless you get something that isn’t covered through the program.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

You may have answered calls that pretend to be from Medicare, this is a SCAM! Below are some tips on how to avoid these scams:

  • Hang up. If someone calls claiming to be from Medicare, asking for your Social Security number or bank information to get your new card or new benefits, that’s a scam.
  • Don’t give personal information to a caller claiming to be from Medicare. You can’t trust caller id. These calls can be spoofed so they look like they’re coming from Medicare even when they’re not. Before you give any personal information, initiate your own call to Medicare at 1-800-MEDICARE.
  • Report the call. Report Medicare imposters at 1-800-MEDICARE and ftc.gov/complaint. The more we hear from you, the more we can help fight scams.

In addition to phone calls, fishing websites are floating around in your email or untrusted webpages. Please consider the authenticity of a website before entering any personal information. Some clues to tell if a website is fishing:

  • The website claims to be an affiliate of Medicare.
  • The URL contains/medicare instead www.medicare.gov.
  • A contact form pops up and asks you to enter personal information.
